Every successful non-profit needs an engaged, diverse panel of leaders to help direct it toward the future. For Leadership Mendocino that panel is in the form of its steering committee, which recently gained two new members - Vicky Watts and Alyssum Wier - both graduates of Class XIX.

Watts lives in Fort Bragg and is an owner of KOZT-The Coast Radio. In joining the LMSC, Watts hopes to make sure others have the opportunity to benefit from the experiences Leadership Mendocino consistently provides for its participants.

Wier is the Executive Director of the Arts Council of Mendocino and an Adjunct Instructor at Mendocino College. Says Wier, "I'm on board to help the program incubate great ideas for Mendocino County and in the process develop leaders and solutions to problems."

Made up of alumni members and concerned local citizens, the Leadership Mendocino Steering Committee (LMSC) is responsible for setting the direction of the program. Its members accomplish this by evaluating curriculum and program scope as well as by participating in class days and other Leadership Mendocino events.
