Join us for a fun-filled day of advocacy at the State Capitol in Sacramento.
All Head Start staff and parents are invited to join an impactful day at the State Capitol in Sacramento. No political expertise needed! This is your chance to tell your story, to help our state legislature understand the impact it's actions have on our programs and the families we serve. We'll start the day off with a briefing on current issues in state legislation, then head to the capitol to meet directly with our elected representatives. New to advocacy or need a refresher? We've got you covered - your registration also includes a virtual advocacy training session on Monday, March 4 from 3 - 4 pm.
The morning of the event, we will carpool and drive together to Sacramento and return the same day in the evening.
Head Start California will go over in person and walk through more specific points from 10 am - 12 pm. Lunch will be provided from 12 pm - 1 pm. Legislative visits will then start at 1 pm.
